Fast Acquisition Using Continuous Movement

Some acquisition functions support the concept called continuous movement. A motorized Z drive or an XY stage moves continuously while the camera acquires images on the fly. This significantly speeds up the process of focusing and image acquisition.

Caution

The functionality is available only with certain hardware equipment.

See below.

Functions supporting fast auto focus

Fast auto focus automatically calculates the optimal strategy to be used. Based on the current hardware configuration, it decides whether to use:

  • Single pass or two passes.

  • Piezo Z or the main Z drive.

  • Continuous or step by step movement.
