Proper cell detection

Example 9.

If spot detection is used for segmenting the nuclei but the Grow function is not used, the detection of the cell border may be problematic.

Some inner nuclei/cell border areas may occur (red arrows).

Proper cell detection should start by detecting the precise border of the nuclei (e.g. by using Bright Spots (3D Segmentation > Spot detection > Bright Spots) with the Grow function checked.

Then another grow (Binary processing > Region growing > Grow Regions) is applied using a channel carrying the cell border information.
