Instead of the Acquisition > ND Acquisition task, you could also use the Z-Stack > 
Z-Stack Loop task containing a (multichannel) Acquisition > 
Capture, however, the arrangement used in the example eliminates unwanted delays which occur when the filter-changer is slower than the Z drive (e.g. if a piezo Z is engaged).
