Use the
icon in the top right corner of the help pages to display a search window. Start writing the name of a function or a menu command or any combination of words. How it works?
Menu commands, control window names, or other selected texts visible in the software graphical user interface are indexed separately. If the texts in the search field is indexed this way, the link to the corresponding help topic is displayed at the top of the search results in a section called “User Interface”

The following principles are applied when searching a phrase:
The search logic is based on the placement of spaces in the search phrase. Generally, the word is not considered a whole word until a SPACE is appended.
First, the words are processed into stems which are words without common postfixes such as “step(s)”, “step(ping)”. Then, the engine searches for the stems rather than the whole words.
Apart from the search for word stems, an exact search of the whole phrase is always performed as well. Its results are appended.
See the following examples which will help you to understand the applied principles:
Table 7.
| Searched phrase | Finds |
|---|---|
| rough | Pages containing “rough”:
|
| roughSPACE | Pages containing words ending with “roughSPACE ”:
|
| roughSPACEstep | Pages containing the word “rough” AND the search score is increased if “step” is found as well. However, “step” may not be on the page at all.
Explanation: “through surface in steps” is not found, because the stem “rough” is not matched to “through” and also the exact phrase “rough surface” is not present. |
| roughSPACEstepSPACE | Pages containing the word “rough” AND containing the word “step”
Explanation: “rough stepcount” is not found because the stem “step” is not matched to “stepcount”. |
For exact search of a character sequence, insert quotation marks at the beginning of the searched phrase:
