Settings This dialog manages how information is extracted from slide labels via OCR (Optical Character Recognition). When the Use AI for slide label metadata extraction is checked, the system uses an on-line OpenAI integration to intelligently parse and sort label text into specific categories: Sample ID, Tissue, Staining, and Comment. Active internet connection is required. This automated process identifies and maps relevant data points while stripping away redundant prefixes like “No.” or “Id.” to ensure the metadata is clean and structured. If the check box is left unchecked, the system does not attempt to categorize the information or distinguish between different data types and all text captured by the OCR is transferred directly into the Comment field. The interface serves as both a configuration tool and a brief guide, providing examples within each field to indicate the expected data types.
Show binary on slides visualizes binaries directly in the slides panel on the left.
