Concrete Measurement

Concrete application is a system dedicated to concrete air content measurement which implements the EN 480-11 Euronorm. The concrete samples should be treated in the right way in order for the automatic detection to perform well: the air voids should be filled with white paste and each sample should be polished properly before scanning. The concrete itself should be colored so it would contrast with the paste.

Step by step concrete measurement

  1. Calibrate the camera if needed.

    See Objectives.

  2. Adjust the camera settings (exposure time, white balance, etc.

    See Camera Settings.

  3. Set the size of your concrete sample (see Applications > Concrete > Options).

  4. Set a suitable focusing method (see Applications > Concrete > Options).

  5. Initialize the motorized stage.

  6. Define (teach) the classifier (see Applications > Concrete > Define the classifier of air voids).

  7. Place the concrete sample onto the stage. It will be scanned several times in the X axis direction (from left to right). If the sample size is correct (150x100 mm), place the shorter edge along the X axis.

  8. Start the measurement (Applications > Concrete > Start measurement). If there are multiple samples to be scanned, an album is optionally created at the end of each sample (which may take a few seconds). Then you will be prompt to insert the next sample.

  9. When the whole measurement finishes, the following window appears. You can open any of the report files from here.
